The Raincoats at The National Portrait Gallery (U.K.)
The Raincoats will be taking part in the Iconic series of events to accompany NPG’s Gay Icons exhibition. As well as playing hits from their 30 year history; Ana, Gina and Shirley will explore their own icons and influences in this one-off event. Trust me, it is going to be AMAZING.

Seminal punk band and ‘Godmothers of Grunge’ The Raincoats follow on their successful event at the London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival with this unique gig for Iconic. The band that brought you the queer version of the Kinks ‘Lola’ have inspired generations of musicians from Beth Ditto to Peaches, Patrick Wolf to Chicks on Speed, and their continuing relevance and fresh, contemporary sound ensure that this will be a rare and special music event. Panther is back with Entropy, an LP of new material from the prolific Portland originators of “floor dancing”. This vinyl gem features more of the jerking rhythms and catchy hooks Panther fans remember from their 2008 full-length on KRS, 14kt God, but these new songs move in a E.L.O./Supertramp/Pinback-y way towards more piano-driven than guitar-driven melodies. Charles Salas-Humara and Joe Kelly create a lot of layers for a duo, building songs that allow Charlie’s vocals to float ethereally into other realms, while firmly moored by Joe’s solid drums.
Panther have been touring the world over the past several years to exotic locales such as Beijing, St Petersburg, Moscow, Dunedin, Prague, Villafranca di Verona, and Brisbane. All the while making legions of fans with their unpredictable high energy shows and caustic pop tunes.
This is 21st Century Pop Music. See them live for the full experience!
This is a limited edition LP, only 500 copies will be made ever, and it comes with a download of the LP as well as EIGHT bonus tracks.
*You will receive your Digital Download code when your order ships.
**PRE-ORDER comes with a free limited edition copy of the Birds EP only available in Germany, while supplies last.
Let it Die is The Shaky Hand’s second album on Kill Rock Stars and the first featuring new drummer Jake Morris (The Joggers, Pseudosix). Recorded immediately upon the band’s return from seven weeks of supporting The Thermals’ Spring US tour, Let It Die is the sound of a band at the top of their game. Armed with a solidified line-up and some of the best songs the band has written, they brought their live energy into the studio and captured it perfectly. Jay Pellicci’s (Deerhoof, Erase Errata, Subtle) production is solid, immediate, and the songs sound absolutely huge.
Let It Die will be a watershed record for this band on the verge.

**PRE-ORDER** Vinyl orders will come with a FREE vinyl copy of the Break The Spell (previously only available from the band on tour) EP. CD orders will come with a FREE digital download of the Break the Spell EP.

EXPLODEINTOCOLORS = three weird aunts + basement party + drawing and sewing till our hands hurt but we keep on keeping on + lost mix tapes + lots and lots of dramedy. One of us currently plays with Kickball and some of us used to play in Thunder!Thunder!Thunder!, Hornet Leg, and Japanther. One of us sometimes dances with Janet Pants. We also make clothes, pictures of all kinds, videos, teach drums, and classify insects.
Explode Into Colors burst onto the Portland scene last year and have been the talk of the town ever since. EIC were recently voted Best New Band by a jury of their peers in local rag the Willamette Week, an artist to watch by XLR8R, and one of the top 10 bands of SXSW 2009 according to the NME. This seven inch features the NPR approved track Eyes Hands Mouth b/w Wooden Ghost.
Featuring drums, percussion, keyboards, vocals, and a baritone guitar these ladies play songs that can turn a large ballroom into a sweaty basement dance party.
Keep an eye out for them as this is only the beginning.
This 7” features two brand new songs, an embossed sleeve, colorful insert, and is a limited edition.
